I studied art restoration. In 1996 I received my Diploma in the restoration of graphic arts. In 1994 I already made the decision to make my living out of art.

1996-1997: I opened my own painting studio “The Shadows Studio” in reference to the colours that I like: the colours of natural earth shadows or sienna.

1995-1996: I started to study old techniques like tempera, gilding, icons….

At present I use an oil technique, sometimes added with sand, or wax, or with little collages… on a base of canvas stretched to a frame.

Since 1997 until today I teach painting including all techniques and with all kinds of expression. Often I’m requested to teach in schools and I work in two social centres to teach adults during the evening hours.

I love history and archaeology, my work as a painter is certainly the reflection of my concept of archaeology and emotions. Those ideas have been improved by my travels. In fact I’m travelling very often, because what I like most is to meet different people, to discover different styles and different cultures.

My first inspiration was Utrillo and after all the “impressionistic” schools, mostly the Italian renaissance school. I followed courses of watercolours, and I discovered oil painting and its pictorial power.

In 1990 already I did my first exhibition with a first series of canvases that express “impressions of landscapes”, sunset, on the prairie with a wind that moves the grass or a sky with a summer storm.

In 2006 I decided to create an imaginary person: “Francesca Anicet”. She is due to become a virtual artist, as an echo of our time. I dedicated two exhibitions to her, in 2006 and 2007, I wrote a novel about her, and one more will come soon.

When I sum up my artistic career I had tree different inspirations: first I painted about “ Nostalgic Architectures”, in reference to a world that surfaced and that disappeared again. After that I created “Archeocities”, a world where past, present and future merge. At the moment my paintings become more stylized, because I had contact with the Japanese culture when I travelled there. Since then my style became more graphical. The future is already taking shape.
